About Us
Our name, AKA, stands for the first letter of each of our daughter’s names – Amanda, Katie and Abby. We take pride in what we do and have been ethically breeding healthy puppies since 2002. Recommended as the best doodle breeder in IL for Therapy and Bio-Sensory service animals.
As a family-owned business started in 2002, we are a breeder of choice time and again based on our vast experience and the high quality of our dogs. Our dogs are highly recommended for service dogs and therapy dogs. We have had many puppies go on to become therapy dogs for children with autism and down-syndrome.
At AKA’s Doodles, we specialize in the Australian Labradoodles because they have been selectively bred for many generations to produce their nice temperament, beauty, allergy friendly coats & great health.
Most our Australian Labradoodle bloodlines originate with Rutland Manor & Tegan Park in Australia. We have Australian multi gen lines which increases genetic diversity. All of our breeding dogs have gone through all the required health testing for breeding.

Made up of expert breeders, a Certified Canine Trainer and Behavior Specialist (C.C.T.B.S), vet technicians, vet student, and a zoologist who possess extensive knowledge and expertise in their respective breeds. They carefully select and pair our dogs to ensure desirable traits, temperament, and genetic health, maintaining the highest standards within the industry. The team also includes our grandchildren, who help socialize our puppies.
Our reproductive veterinary clinic located in Wisconsin plays a vital role in our team, providing comprehensive health screenings, vaccinations, and regular check-ups for all our dogs. Their expertise ensures that each puppy receives proper care and attention, guaranteeing their well-being.
Behind the scenes, our dedicated staff members work tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of our operation runs smoothly. From managing paperwork, coordinating appointments, and maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our operation, they are the backbone of our organization.

Started Puppies
These are the currently available “Started Puppies”.
What is a “Started Puppy“?
Here are the training points we use during this program:
- They begin crate training
- They have a great start with house training
- They will sleep through the night
- Learn commands sit & down
- Learn to walk with a leash
- They will also go on short car rides as a part of their training.
Socialization is the key to success in bringing home your new puppy. Crate training done correctly is a lifesaver for dog owners! If a dog is taught through positive reinforcement, they will love the crate, and then it becomes their own private and safe place. Our Started Puppy training program is perfect for busy families that could use a great start!

Humane Breeding
We breed and raise all of our puppies in our home, with our children, making our puppies outgoing and well socialized.
Health Guarantee
When purchasing a dog from AKA’s, you will be given, and required to sign, a health guarantee. This protects you from any genetic defects that appear within the first 24 months of the dog’s life.
Bio-Sensory
We incorporate the Bio-Sensor or Super Dog Program into our socialization and temperament development regimen. The Bio Sensor program easily fit into our established puppy rearing process and supports our values.
The Biosensor Routine is a series of five simple exercises. They are performed on each puppy once a day, starting at three days of age. Each exercise lasts a minimum of three seconds to a maximum of five seconds per exercise. The last exercise is completed on the 16th day.
SMILING DOG CERTIFIED TRAINER
We also take great pride in beginning early training with all of our puppies. Both of our owners are certified by the respected “Smiling Dog Training” program, which focuses on positive reinforcement and relationship-based techniques.
From a young age, our pups are introduced to foundational skills such as crate training, potty routines, and basic commands like “sit” and “come.” This early structure not only helps build confidence but also sets them up for long-term success in their new homes. Our goal is to provide families with well-rounded, eager-to-learn companions who are not only loving but also responsive and well-mannered from the start.
Therapy Dog International
Therapy Dogs International, Inc., founded in 1976, is a volunteer organization dedicated to regulating, testing and registration of therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers for the purpose of visiting nursing homes, hospitals, other institutions and wherever else therapy dogs are needed. The TDI certification test is very similar to the CGC, but adds more exercises involving medical equipment (such as wheelchairs or walkers) and other environmental stimuli that the dog may come across in their volunteer work.
